Starlink cuts the cost of VR training room set ups

Shanghai, China, Tuesday 11th May 2021 – DPVR has launched another world leading virtual reality hardware innovation with the introduction of the Starlink group system solution. This now DPVR software solution makes it cheaper and easier to use multiple VR headsets in education and training situations.

It cuts the costs needed to fit out classrooms or group training facilities by removing the need for using individual computers for each user. The use of DPVR’s unique wireless VR headset solution means the room doesn’t have to be filled with messy cables & lots of computer hardware.

I am so proud of our development team because our field team shared all the challenges we had with traditional wired VR headset training solutions. Messy, complicated, too many computers. It was possible, but not ideal.

To be able to get rid of all of that and just focus on a single PC tethered unit and lots of wireless headsets is perfect. It's easier to manage and will give group training a new dimension.

The biggest benefit of course is the cost savings, there's no need for lots of computers in a room, and software licensing is cheaper too. Starlink from DPVR is a great solution.

Easier than current wired VR headset training solutions

This solution overcomes the current problems using PC tethered VR headsets for group training which require lots of expensive computer hardware in the room, connecting hubs, room cabling and doesn’t the solution doesn’t provide a sense of immersion or interaction.

The difference that a Starlink powered system can deliver is through its use of the DPVR all in one P Series VR Headset and its wireless capabilities. The Starlink system requires just one PC tethered VR Headset like our E34K or E3C and a computer. This set up can synchronise with up to 30 wireless VR Headsets with the ability to smoothly share training or educational content from the presenter.

It also means all the processing work is being done by the headsets which reduces the typical problems of poor computer processing power or operating system crashes.

Depending on the room size and wireless router hardware you can have up to 30 people using Starlink within 10 meters and up to 40 people within 8m. More is possible depending on the hardware used on the site.
