New VR hardware & software customisation capabilities

Together with its new processing power, the DPVR P1 Ultra 4K VR headset embodies a unique modular design that can be customised to suit different business requirements. The model can be specified with things such as;

The very clever Korean company Class V has created a virtual classroom system that uses virtual reality technology to enhance engagement and interaction. There are so many students around the world that are forced to study from home and this can impact their ability to learn effectively.

No doubt you have also seen some of the funny videos on TikTok or YouTube with all the tricks and hacks students are using to make it ‘look’ like they are paying attention to standard video calls, like using fake eye lids or static repeating profile videos.

By creating a virtual classroom environment teachers and students can interact freely, very similar to a normal learning environment. The idea behind this type of use for virtual reality is a simple one that mimics real environments. The way it works is quite simple with the centre of the screen becoming the teacher’s blackboard, showing presentations that the teacher uploads for the particular subject or class. Students can then interact, ask questions and be part of the group learning environment with Class V’s platform.

Hand tracking:
With a built-in hand tracking module featuring a 78-degree field of view, interaction becomes more natural and easier. For customers, especially in the education field, the hand tracking module will make it much easier for younger students, and elderly people, to adopt VR for learning.

Eye tracking:
This supports 90 Hz binocular eye tracking and features functions such as foveated rendering and gaze interaction. Foveated rendering can help improve the performance of hardware devices by more than 30%, while also reducing power consumption. Moreover, gaze interaction promotes a wider set of applications such as those required for training, remote collaboration and location-based entertainment.

Heart rate:
A built-in heart rate sensor can help monitor an individual’s physical and mental health.

Iris recognition:
This can be used for ID verification. For example, pairing iris registration and recognition allows for the confirmation of identity with a higher level of security when making a payment in a virtual store.

BCI (Brain-computer Interface):
Sensors to detect brain activity and health data, such as blood pressure, can be built in to the headset to help healthcare sector customers monitor patient data.

DPVR can also provide other levels of customisation such as facial expression recognition, a direct power supply module, different battery module, 6 DoF controller or even branded units. This level of VR headset customisation means DPVR can create a virtual reality hardware solution to meet the varying requirements of both hardware and software that are used in different business or enterprise applications.

Improved comfort, clarity & durability

Light weight
All of the performance improvements have been packed into the same lightweight body that DPVR is famous for. At just 450 grams the P1 series of wireless VR headsets become the ideal choice for any business application that can be used in standard meeting rooms, offices or off-site as needed

Better comfort
Improving usability was high on the development list and the DPVR engineers have made the headsets more comfortable to wear with an improved ergonomic triangle head strap and a more comfortable facial mask. Combined with the new built in smart fan it means users can leave the headset on for extended periods quite comfortably.

Improved visual clarity
The P1 Ultra 4K boasts incredible visual capabilities with the Fresnel Lens delivering crisp images via the 3840 x 2160 LCD screen. Together with the 100-degree field of view it makes this headset suitable for things like medical procedure training, heavy machinery operation and other visually intensive applications.

Operating use
With their lightweight, comfortable design it means users can wear the headsets for long periods and both models feature DPVR’s long life battery technology to provide up to 4 hours between charges.

A VR headset designed for enterprise applications

The P1 series of wireless VR headsets are available for sale from just USD$198 which makes it very affordable for small or large businesses to begin using VR in their workplace.

The new, more powerful, P1 Ultra 4K will be available for just USD$599 and considering its customisation capabilities means it can power nearly any VR application thinkable. It means companies can implement a VR solution and provide groups of staff access to cutting edge technology for things like safety, training and process improvement.

DPVR continues to grow global market share

The survey of VR market share in 1Q2021, which was conducted by Counterpoint, shows that the shipment share of DPVR VR headsets was ranked in the top 3 in the global market and grew more than 100% year-over-year. While recent IDC reporting saw global shipments of virtual reality (VR) headsets grow by 52.4% year over year with DPVR delivering more than 100% growth in shipments with headsets getting used in a mix of commercial and consumer applications around the world. Countries like Japan, Korea, USA and the UK have all delivered great growth results in recent months.
