Learning English can become a fun, immersive experience with VR

Being born and raised in China I am so proud to see the DPVR headsets helping students learn faster and have fun in the classroom.

Using virtual reality can give Chinese students an advantage over kids in other countries by being able to absorb classroom lessons in new and fun ways.

DPVR provided the P1 Pro 4K virtual reality headset to the China Welfare Institute with the English learning Machine. The China Welfare Institute was founded by Soong Ching Ling, Honorary President of the People’s Republic of China, in Hong Kong on June 14, 1938.

Based in Shanghai with its aim at serving the nation and the world, CWI helps in many different areas including children healthcare, school education, out-of-school education, children’s play and children’s publishing. So it was only natural that they tried the DPVR virtual reality headset technology to continue developing the methods of teaching children in China.

It is part of many different projects that CWI manages including:

  • The “Three Awards and One Festival” – Soong Ching Ling Scholarship, Soong Ching Ling Camphor Tree Award, Soong Ching Ling Children’s Education Award
  • The Shanghai International Children’s Cultural and Arts Festival
  • Chunxiao Initiative, Snow Lotus Initiative, Chunlan Initiative, Igniting Initiative and National Training Initiative.

As you can see from the photos, the use of virtual reality in the classroom to teach English can create fun and engaging experiences for the students. The transition from text books and blackboards to completely immersive, fun and engaging teaching methods transforms the way students learn, making it fun & interesting.
